Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran is one of ABC's initial Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had completed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a $350,000 investment in Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and also a housekeeper. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as a drunkard who sometimes treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, particularly after he had been drinking. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several courses her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
