Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965 was an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her role as the main character on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. In the final season of the show Sedgwick won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's solos (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and therapist for families and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian as well as of English heritage. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and is a part of Passover meal times.
